Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir on Tuesday termed the military corporation as a hub for knowledge economy and research and development, during a visit to state-owned defense products manufacturer Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) in Taxila, Punjab. R&D).

According to the army’s media wing, the army chief visited various factories of the installation to observe the production of defense equipment being manufactured.
During his visit, General Munir was briefed about HIT’s technical capabilities, progress of ongoing projects, localization efforts and recent innovative initiatives.
“COAS visited various factories of HIT and witnessed manufacturing, rebuild and upgradation of tanks, APCs, enhanced protection solutions, remote weapon systems and indigenous 155 mm Artillery gun barrels for Pak Army,” the statement read.

According to ISPR, the Army Chief expressed full confidence in the capabilities of personnel at HIT to transform the military corporation into a modern defense production facility to meet the needs of the armed forces and law enforcement agencies. ISPR said that General Munir was visited by the Chairman of HIT.
