If Country becomes insolvent, national security will have to be compromised, Imran Khan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairperson Imran Khan on Thursday warned that if Pakistan defaults, it will have to “compromise its national security” the next time the government approaches foreign lenders for aid.

Recalling that the country’s default risk was “just 5 percent” when he was in power earlier this year, Imran said the current government had “destroyed the economy”.

He added that all the steps being taken by the current government, including the changes in the Army Act, are to ensure that the current leaders can protect their “looted wealth”.

He added that there is a chance that the current leaders will flee the country “once again” and that they are “doing it all for themselves, not for the country or its people”.

Reiterating his demand for free and fair elections, Imran said it was the only way forward for the country. “The PTI won 70 percent of the elections despite the fact that the establishment was supporting them,” the former prime minister said.

He also claimed that his aim was to “eliminate Imran Khan”.

The PTI chairperson also said that it was “an important moment” in the country’s history and that “when a nation stands, it is unstoppable”.

PTI Will Hold its Biggest Ever Rally in Pindi

PTI Secretary General Asad Umar said on Thursday that the party would hold its “biggest ever” political rally in Rawalpindi.

He said the PTI would not be intimidated or cowed and its leaders would “stand by their supporters” and not hide behind “bulletproof glass”.

Umar also claimed that party chairman Imran Khan had visited Russia to buy “cheap oil for the people” and continued the visit despite all warnings.

“Imran was advised that the powers that be would turn against him if he visited Russia, but he ignored the warnings for the betterment of the country.”

In a tweet earlier on Wednesday, Umar had said that Imran would announce the date of Haqi Azadi March in Rawalpindi on Saturday.

The party chief and former prime minister is scheduled to join the march in Rawalpindi and lead PTI supporters.

Further, Umar said that the entire country was being brought down in a “failed attempt” to topple Imran.

PTI’s Long March

According to PTI’s official Twitter account, PTI leaders are leading marches in Jhelum’s Dina, Khushab’s Quaidabad, Peshawar and Chakdara today.

Party chief Imran Khan will address the participants of the Long March today at 4:30 pm.

PTI leader Musarat Cheema shared today’s route of the march on Twitter and said that the real freedom march will begin at 3 pm in the form of a rally from Ladhar House.

She tweeted that the rally will be led by various PTI leaders including Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Fawad Chaudhry.

The rally plans to reach Mangala Road in Dina around 4 pm, Cheema added, adding that the rally will be hosted by Raja Yawar Kamal, Sher Baz and Zahid Akhtar.
