ISLAMABAD: Former Speaker National Assembly and senior PTI leader Asad Qaiser has said that Imran Khan does not want a fight with the military establishment.
Talking to JEE News, he said that Imran Khan’s agenda is to lead the country towards development and prosperity without personal grudge against anyone including the establishment.
Qaiser recalled that Imran Khan in a public statement had also forgiven those who allegedly planned to kill him during PTI’s long march in Wazirabad last year.
Asad Qaiser vehemently dismissed the impression that Imran Khan could harbor personal enmity against anyone after coming to power. He clarified that Imran Khan only wants the rule of law and all state institutions to work within their constitutional limits.
Asad Qaiser is among those within the PTI who are seeking reconciliation between the PTI and the military establishment. Former KP Chief Minister and former Defense Minister Pervez Khattak and Fawad Chaudhry are also among those trying to bridge the gap between Imran Khan and the military establishment.
However, some people surrounding the PTI chairman are allegedly feeding Imran conspiracy theories against the current establishment. Faisal Vawda, who was once a close associate of Imran Khan, calls such people snakes. VAWDA, though did not name these snakes, insisted that they were pitting Imran Khan against the establishment for their own political interests.
In recent months, Imran Khan has spoken of at least five different plots to assassinate him. A senior PTI leader, speaking on condition of anonymity, said most party leaders had no details about the alleged plots but insisted that some people were feeding Khan wrongly.
Initially, within months of his removal as prime minister, Imran Khan had said that four people had plotted to kill him. He had said that he had recorded his video statement about the conspiracy and the alleged conspirators and that it (the video statement) would be made public if he was killed. However, Khan did not name the alleged scammers.
After the Wazirabad attack, Imran Khan named Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and a senior ISI officer for planning the failed attempt on his life. Later, a private TV channel quoted Imran Khan as saying that General Bajwa had planned to kill him (Imran) and impose emergency in the country.
Recently, Khan accused former president and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari of being part of a plot to get rid of him, and alleged that after two failed attempts on his life, the four men , who he had previously claimed had hatched a conspiracy. Together with the leader of the People’s Party to kill him, then devise a plan C to eliminate him.
In a televised address, Khan alleged that “Asif Zardari has paid his corruption money to a terrorist organization which is being helped by the facilitators of a powerful state agency to carry out another attack on me.” “
A few days ago, Imran Khan came up with a new conspiracy and claimed that another plan was hatched to kill him through a police operation. He alleged that Inspector General Police Punjab, IG Police Islamabad and handlers had planned the murder of Murtaza Bhutto.
He feared that in a day or two, the Punjab Police was planning to conduct another operation at Khan’s residence in Zaman Park after infiltrating their men in the PTI mob. He alleged that these infiltrators would kill four to five policemen to justify retaliation by the Punjab Police and would later be killed in an encounter during the mayhem.
