Blaming the current coalition government for “political hunting” of his party’s leaders and allies, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday called off the ‘Jeel Bharo’ (Court Arrest) movement from Lahore. Announced to start.

“We will fill the jails, they have There will be no place to hide.” where he has been living since he was shot in the legs on November 3 last year.

In the wake of sedition cases filed against his party’s leaders, including Fawad Chaudhry, Azam Swati and Shahbaz Gul, Imran Khan announced the “Jail Bharo Movement” on 4 February and asked PTI workers and supporters to leave the country. Prepare to move throughout.

“They want to enslave us by threatening to put us in jail,” said the former prime minister, who was ousted after a no-confidence vote in April last year, vowing to carry out the authorities’ wishes. said

Khan claimed that the police in Multan entered the homes of PTI workers and tasked them with such intimidation tactics. If the police are doing this, won’t the people hate them?

He further said that the interim government is strongly against PTI.

Referring to the caretaker setup, he said: “A man of questionable character was brought in. We have a list of 23 people who committed atrocities out of which 16 were brought in.”

The PTI chief also recalled the “torture” meted out to his party leaders, highlighting the treatment meted out to Swati, Gul and Fawad.

“Never in history have such actions been taken against political opponents,” lamented Khan.

Tensions between the current government and the PTI have risen, with elections in two provinces – Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – looming, with no sign of respite following the party’s decision to dissolve assemblies. The PTI had dissolved the Punjab and KP Assemblies on January 14 and January 18 respectively.

Taking a fresh shot at the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the PTI chief said: “It is dangerous that the CEC [Chief Election Commissioner] is showing its incompetence in conducting elections.”

Khan’s latest criticism comes after President Dr Arif Alvi summoned CEC Sikandar Sultan Raja for an emergency meeting on February 20 (Monday) regarding the announcement of the date of the new general elections.

He said that he dissolved the provincial assemblies of Punjab and KP in accordance with the knowledge that the constitution of the country specifies that elections should be held within 90 days of the dissolution of any assembly.

He added that caretaker government and interim chief ministers would be illegal on the 91st day.

“There can be no bigger disaster than when the judiciary fails to ensure the implementation of the constitution,” he said while criticizing the election-managing authority. “Where there is no rule of law there is no justice.”

Khan said that he has been claiming that the coalition government has no mandate and cannot run the country.

Accusing the caretaker government of obstructing the investigation into the assassination attack on him in Wazirabad on November 3 last year, the PTI chief said “its only job is to hold elections”.

The interim government comes first and [the Joint Investigation Team] intercepts the JIT and steals the records. When an officer goes to collect the JIT report, it is found that only 11 pages of the report remain, he said, adding that the JIT record is being claimed as missing.

Criticizing the interim setup in Punjab, the former prime minister said all links were pointing to him and he was worried about being caught.

Criticizing the ruling rulers over the recently announced mini-budget, Khan asked if the price hike was a “tough decision”.

The ousted prime minister further said that the government has broken the back of the people by increasing the prices of all the items of daily use. “[IMF] loans are not the solution to the country’s problems.”

Ruling coalition came to power through an auction
Taking a jibe at the PDM government, Khan said: “They did not come to power through elections but through auctions. The government does not seem to hold elections in 90 days. They are afraid of elections.”

The ruling coalition wanted to win the election through rigging, he accused the authorities, while warning that the PTI “will not remain silent when the election is stolen”.

‘Institutions are under pressure’
According to the PTI chief, it seems that institutions are under pressure and the government is running away from elections.

He also vowed that PTI will not allow the government to rig the elections no matter what they do.

Turning his guns on Pakistan People’s Party, the ruling party in Sindh, the former prime minister said that the People’s Party has no vote bank in Karachi but it has shown success in recent elections in the city.

Referring to the killing of journalist Arshad Sharif and the alleged crackdown on his party leadership, Khan said the government wanted to put him behind bars, so he would launch a campaign of judicial arrest across the country.
