Imran Khan summoned Speaker Qureshi and Khattak for not attending National Assembly session

Sources told JEE News on Thursday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan attended a meeting with National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf regarding confirmation of the resignations of senior party leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Pervez Khattak. Asked for not doing.

Pervez Khattak and Qureshi were part of the delegation sent by PTI to meet the Speaker National Assembly today. However, sources within the party said that both the leaders opted out of the meeting at the last moment.

In his absence, former Speaker Asad Qaiser led the delegation in the meeting.

Now the two leaders will meet the PTI Chairman at his Lahore residence Zaman Park and explain their stand on the matter.

Speaker National Assembly will meet PTIMNAs one by one.
Earlier today, National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf told the PTI delegation led by Asad Qaiser that party legislators would be called for a meeting individually to confirm the resignations.

The delegation met the Speaker in his chamber to discuss the confirmation of his resignations amid talks to return the party to the Assembly.

The delegation included former Speaker Asad Qaiser, Qasim Suri, Aamir Dogar, Dr. Shabir Hussain, Attaullah, Faheem Khan and Tahir Iqbal.

Earlier, Dogar contacted the Speaker of the National Assembly and requested him to meet the PTI delegation.

However, on Wednesday, the Speaker of the National Assembly said that the PTI delegation did not come for the meeting and asked for a meeting on Thursday at 11:30 am.

Ashraf added, “Dogar told me that some PTI leaders wanted to meet me regarding their resignations, however, I told them that I will meet all of them individually and not in groups.”

On the same day, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that he is ready to play a role in the parliament, but the government is not ready to commit seriously.

The PTI leader made these remarks while reacting to Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s statement against PTI chief Imran Khan.

Bilawal while addressing a gathering organized on the occasion of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto’s 15th birth anniversary at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, asked the PTI chief to return to Parliament.

PTI legislators resigned en masse in April after PTI Chairman Imran Khan was removed as prime minister and has not yet returned home.
