ISLAMABAD: Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal, who is hearing the Toshakhana case of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, was transferred to another court on Wednesday.
This development comes after the Registrar of Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued a notification of exchange.
The notification said that the judge has been transferred from the West Court to the East Court.
At least eight Additional Sessions Judges have also been transferred on the orders of the Chief Justice of the Federal Supreme Court, Amir Farooq.
Four judges from the West have been transferred to the East while three judges from the East have been transferred to the West.
In the latest developments in Khan’s Toshakhana case, the IHC – on April 3 – summoned the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to arrest PTI chief and his wife Bushra Bibi without following standard operating procedures (SOPs). Issued a notice to do so.
The court heard petitions filed by the former prime minister and Bushra Bibi, challenging the February 17 and March 16 call-up notices issued by the anti-corruption watchdog.
