JUIF will not be part of talks with PTI, Fazlur Rehman

ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Thursday that his party will not be part of the talks with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to decide the date of elections.

“We will not be part of the negotiations, even in the Senate. We stand by our stand,” Fazal said while addressing a press conference in the federal capital.

He said that his party has taken a stand that the matter should be handled by the Election Commission of Pakistan, which should use its powers.

I don’t think sitting with PTI will bring any solution. I want to bring to the attention of the court that they have not yet recognized Imran Khan.

He said that the Supreme Court’s decision to hold elections on May 14 is not workable, they should correct it themselves, adding that Pakistan has always held elections on the same day throughout its history.

The JUIF chief said that the party that wins in Punjab will also come to power at the Centre. He said that the Supreme Court says that it has nothing to do with the negotiations, but it takes a firm stand by sticking to its decision regarding the elections to be held on May 14.

Expressing concerns over the accuracy of the census, Fazal said he had advised the government that the digital method was flawed, adding that the constituencies would be based on the census results and therefore needed to be double-checked. Is.

He asked when the process of accountability of former Prime Minister Imran Khan will start, he announced that the party will soon start a public campaign in this regard.
