Security forces in Pakistan have successfully thwarted a major terror attack by busting a network of suicide bombers.

Security agencies said that they had conducted the operation on January 23 based on intelligence information about the presence of a network of suicide bombers.

The operation was launched on the basis of information gathered after the suicide bombing at the Jamrud Takht Beg check post on January 19.

During the attack, the terrorists detonated a bomb after an exchange of fire with the security forces.

The outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack.

After that, the security forces started an operation to find the attackers. The forces have sent the bullet casings and body parts of the terrorists to the laboratory for forensic tests.

Analysis of geo-fencing and captured closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage on January 21 revealed the identity of an outlawed TTP terrorist, identified as Umar, behind the suicide attack.

Umar was facilitated by Satana Jan, a resident of Tehsil Jamrud, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Due to which he reached the network of suicide bombers on January 23.

Huge quantity of arms, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the possession of the terrorist group.

On January 23, security forces arrested Farmanullah and Abdul Qayyum during an intelligence-based operation.

Meanwhile, the TTP accepted that the facilitator of the operation, Satana Jana, had been killed.

Another major operation was conducted on January 27 based on information received from Afghan nationals Farmanullah and Abdul Qayyum.

Security forces hoped to arrest three suspected terrorists.

During this operation, the security forces arrested four persons including Fazal Amin, Fazal Ahmed, Muhammad Amir and Hamdullah.

Fazal Ahmed has been identified as the man who took the photos of the January 19 attack on his mobile phone.

During interrogation, Facilitator Fazal Ahmed revealed that the suicide bomber, who was an Afghan national, was at an identified location.

Based on this information, the security forces arrested two Afghan citizens.

Who is Satana Jan?
The report said that Satana Jan was a facilitator of TTP and its members including suicide bombers.

He is believed to arrange and supply weapons and suicide jackets to suicide bombers.

He will also arrange their travel and accommodation.

Authorities now believe that Satana John was operating as a local commander of the TTP network in North Waziristan.

He had four separate hideouts where he would hide and keep suicide bombers and prepare them for his missions.
