LG Polls: Voting continues slowly as PPP leads

KARACHI: Despite more than 15 hours of polling being over, the results of three local body elections in Karachi and Hyderabad divisions are delayed.

According to JEE News, in the second phase of the local body elections in Sindh, the results of the local body elections held yesterday in 16 districts of Karachi and Hyderabad division have not yet come.

Despite the clear orders of the Election Commission of Pakistan, the results process could not be completed till this morning.

Out of the total 246 seats in Karachi, the unconfirmed and unofficial results of only 20 seats have come out till Monday morning.

In Karachi, there was a tough competition between Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf and Pakistan Peoples Party.

In other districts of Hyderabad, Badin, PPP is leading. However, the overall turnout was very low. More Jamaat-e-Islami candidates were successful from the central and eastern districts of Karachi.

According to unofficial and unconfirmed reports, Sindh’s ruling party PPP was successful in Malir and the southern districts of Lyari and Kemari.

According to the complete results of UCS so far, Pakistan People’s Party has won 10 seats. PTI and Jamaat-e-Islami have won five seats each, while the results are yet to come, according to the ongoing counting, there is a lot of confusion in some places, arrows are marked in some places and no answer has been given in some places. .

Earlier, People’s Party leader Murtaza Wahab had claimed that his party is leading in the second phase of local elections in Karachi and Hyderabad, he said that the next mayor of Karachi will be ‘Jiyala’.
