LAHORE: Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that imposing martial law in the country was not possible. He said that martial law is imposed after assessing the situation and whether the people will accept it.
During an interview on Sunday, he said how can you impose martial law if the people are not with you.
The PTI chief said that if the elections are not held in 90 days, they will not follow the constitution. “If there is no constitution, there is no country.”
He said that they are waiting for the weakening of PTI or the arrest or killing of Imran Khan. The situation was very bad and mafias were jointly trying to divide the Judiciary for their personal interests.
The former prime minister said that the human rights situation is deteriorating, with police arresting political activists and then treating them like terrorists. He said that people have become aware and now it is impossible to manage the situation.
During the last 30 years of PDM parties rule, Pakistan went down economically while India and Bangladesh prospered.
Imran said that he will bring reforms in bureaucracy and judicial system, strengthen governance if he comes back to power.
“I will embrace the concept of truth and reconciliation as Nelson Mandela did.”
He said that if PTI comes back to power, it will find new ways to bring investment into the country and provide facilities to overseas Pakistanis. He said that he would cut costs and use all his efforts to reform the governance system.
To another question on who will be the finance minister of the PTI government, Imran said that PDM has failed but Shaukat Tareen will be the next finance minister.
When asked who will be the next Chief Minister of Punjab, he said that he has no knowledge about the Chief Minister of Punjab yet.
Imran Khan said that the country’s economy was improving when he was in government but unfortunately he was ousted. He further said that ‘I kept giving benefit of doubt to General Bajwa but later I came to know that he was the only man behind the conspiracy against me and my government’.
“I met the head of state in a Middle Eastern country and he asked me if Bajwa was with me,” he said, adding that it was quite a surprise for him.
He criticized the PDM saying that they hide things and tell lies. During our government, the growth rate was six percent. It means creating wealth. And at the same time, they removed our government.
In response to another question that if the elections are not held in 90 days, will he be on the streets again, Imran Khan said that the results are clear because the PDM is broken and the aim of his struggle is to give justice to the people. found
He said that the people have come to know their rights and it is the right time to be ready to protest. He also asked the lawyers about the rule of law.
“We were not crazy that we dissolved our assemblies and now we just sit idle and watch these people,” Imran said, adding that the constitution guarantees elections within 90 days but the PD M is running away. He said that PDM has violated the constitution by delaying the elections.
Khan said that if the rule of law is not ensured, the country will break up and become a republic. He said that he will remain in the country and has decided to dissolve the assemblies keeping in view the elections as per law.
He said that the country’s economy is collapsing and PDM wants to delay the elections and is looking for options to get PTI out of its way. He was waiting for the loans so that he could successfully execute his plans to oust the PTI from the electoral race.
He said that overseas Pakistanis, especially those in the UAE, had invested $10.4 billion there, adding that they wanted investment in the country but it was possible without the rule of law. was not.
There were four groups in our party and we brought Usman Buzdar as he did not belong to any block. He said that Buzdar was a shy and straightforward man of media while his predecessor in Punjab Shehbaz Sharif was involved in many cases of corruption.
He said that despite being affected, he was never depressed, saying that I spent four months at home and was confined to the house.
“I was not brought up in a military nursery like Bhutto or Nawaz Sharif because I formed my own party and interacted with the people,” the PTI chief said.
He said that he made many mistakes in his life and misjudged both the families. Khan expressed lack of confidence in the interim setup in Punjab and KP, saying that he had no idea that the interim government would be behind the attacks on his house and party workers.
The PTI chief said that the PDM is at a loss as it will lose whenever the elections are held, adding that his party enjoys huge support.
