ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Finance has convened its special meeting today (Monday) at 10 am to review the Supreme Court’s orders to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to release funds for elections in Punjab.
According to the statement released by the National Assembly Secretariat, the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Finance, Qaiser Ahmad Shaikh, will preside over the meeting in which the Supreme Court’s order to release funds to the State Bank will be reviewed legally and recommendations will be made.
Law Minister Senator Azam Nazir Tarar, Commerce Minister Syed Naveed Qamar, Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan, State Bank Governor Jameel Ahmed and Auditor General Muhammad Ajmal Gondal have also been invited to attend the meeting.
