Renowned religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel visited the house of Shaheed Arshad Sharif on Thursday and condoled with the bereaved family over the tragic demise of the senior journalist.
Maulana along with his family members met the mother and children of Shaheed Arshad Sharif and expressed his heartfelt sorrow over the martyrdom of Sharif.
He told the family that he wanted to come to them first but decided to send other friends and relatives to condole with the deceased’s family and they would meet later.
Maulana also recited Fatiha for the soul of the deceased and prayed that Allah grant the deceased a place in Jannat al-Firdous. He also prayed for the bereaved family.
It may be mentioned here that Nawaz Sharif left Pakistan in August after several cases were registered against him. It is reported that he was initially based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after which he moved to Kenya.
Arshad Sharif was shot dead in Kenya on October 24. Kenyan media initially quoted local police as saying that Sharif had been shot dead by police in a case of “mistaken identity”.
But later Kenyan media reports reconstructed the events surrounding the murder, stating that a man riding in Sharif’s car at the time of his killing opened fire on paramilitary General Service Unit (GSU) officers. It was played.
