The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has withdrawn the appeals filed against former President Asif Ali Zardari’s acquittal in decades-old cases.
NAB filed an application in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to withdraw the 4 petitions filed against the acquittal of Asif Zardari.
The anti-graft watchdog, in its petition, said that photocopies of the documents produced as evidence against Zardari are also not on record.
NAB said that the available documents are not in accordance with the requirement of evidence law.
Asif Zardari was acquitted in Arsis Tractors deal, ARY Gold, Polo Ground and SSG Kotekna cases.
The Accountability Bureau had filed appeals against his acquittal in 2015.
