ISLAMABAD: The 146th birth anniversary of the founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah is being celebrated across the country today, with a pledge to uphold his guiding principles of unity, faith and discipline.

Pakistan is celebrating the birth anniversary of the father of the nation with traditional fervor and in tribute to his tireless struggle, resourcefulness and leadership that led to the establishment of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent.

Government and private departments will organize various events including seminars, conferences, competitions and debate programs to highlight the messages and vision of Quaid-i-Azam.

On the birthday of Quaid-e-Azam, the national flag will be hoisted on important government buildings across the country.

The day began with special prayers for the country’s security, development and prosperity.

Special events are organized on this day to highlight and promote the ideas and ideals of the Fathers of the Nation, especially regarding the rule of law, supremacy of constitution and supremacy of democracy.

A grand ceremony of changing of guards was held at Mazar-e-Quaid in which cadets of Pakistan Military Academy Kakul took over the duties of guards of Pakistan Air Force.

Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was a true and righteous leader whose dedication and determined efforts led to the establishment of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent.

A lawyer and politician, Jinnah served as the leader of the All India Muslim League from 1913 until the independence of Pakistan on 14 August 1947, then as the first Governor-General of Pakistan until his death on 11 September 1948. .

The President reiterated the nation’s resolve to always value and uphold the Quaid’s vision of Pakistan to use the country’s resources in an orderly and systematic manner.

In a separate message, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called upon the nation to take guidance from the life of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and follow his principles to ensure the development and prosperity of Pakistan.

He added that “the founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam bravely fought the constitutional and political battle for the rights of the Muslims of the Indian subcontinent as a result of which today all Muslims are living a free life in Pakistan.”

The Prime Minister said that Quaid-e-Azam’s efforts were not only for the establishment of a separate and independent state for Muslims, but he also wanted a state in which minorities could live without any fear and danger and they would be given equal opportunities for development and full rights. The Prime Minister pointed out that India as a state has failed to protect the rights of minorities due to growing religious animosity and extremist Hindutva thinking.
