PDM Chief Fazlur Rehman Demanded Resignation of President Alvi.

After President Arif Alvi’s mandatory address to Parliament in which only 15 lawmakers attended, PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman demanded President Arif Alvi’s resignation.

On Twitter, the JUI-F chief said that the President has no power to remain in the seat as his party members boycotted his speech during a joint session of Parliament.

Fazlur Rehman termed Arif Alvi as selected and a violation of the constitution, saying that his party’s legislator boycotted his speech at the beginning of the parliamentary year.

“Therefore Alavi has no right to remain in office and should resign immediately,” he tweeted.

President Alvi’s Demand For Free And Fair Elections
Addressing a joint session of the Parliament to mark the commencement of the last parliamentary year of the current National Assembly, President Arif Alvi reiterated that the adoption of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) was recommended to ensure transparency. The demand for free and fair elections remains. electoral process.

He questioned how Pakistan would be stable if every election was challenged, adding that attention should be paid to polarization as this is an election year.

President Alvi addressed the meeting to an almost empty hall. There were only 15 lawmakers in the audience during the President’s speech, which was later reduced to 12.

Some PTI defectors were also present in the hall. The Speaker asked the members to take their seats. Balochistan Awami Party legislators were also present on the occasion, while Muslim League (N), People’s Party and JUI-F boycotted the President’s address without any warning.

On the other hand, PTI MPs said that they boycotted the meeting because they do not believe in this assembly. Only 14 out of 422 legislators were present in the hall during the President’s address.
