Thousands of people gathered to pay their last respects to Brazilian legend Pele, as a funeral procession carrying his casket made its way through the streets of Santos.
Pele’s coffin was moved on a fire engine from the Villa Belmiro stadium, where it lay in state, through the streets, to the cemetery where he will be buried in a private ceremony.
Mourners lined the streets to say goodbye, many wearing or carrying Santos shirts emblazoned with Pele’s name.
Pele – a three-time World Cup winner – died on December 29 at the age of 82.
