Petition was filed in Supreme Court for Alvi’s dismissal

ISLAMABAD: A petition was filed in the Supreme Court on Tuesday to remove President Arif Alvi from office, stating that the president is no longer eligible for the post due to his toeing the PTI line.

According to JEE News, this application was filed by a citizen Chaudhry Muhammad Imtiaz.

The petitioner took the position that President Alvi is no longer eligible for this position, the Supreme Court should immediately remove the current President from office.

In his petition, he accused President Alvi of being biased as he was on the PTI line.

In the petition, the position was taken that the President refused to approve the government legislation on the request of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

It further said that he did not approve the Supreme Court Procedural Bill sent by the Parliament, the President also refused to sign the NAB Amendment Bill and the Islamabad Local Government Act.

The petition said that the President’s refusal to perform his constitutional duties shows that he is unfit for the office of the President, hence he should be removed.
