A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane was flying in Indian airspace for about ten minutes after it failed to land at Lahore Airport due to heavy rain.

Flight PK248 returned from Muscat on May 4 at 8 pm. The pilot attempted to land at Allama Iqbal International Airport. However, due to heavy rain, the pilot went on a go-round after receiving instructions from Air Traffic Control and missed the route while returning.

The aircraft entered Indian airspace from Badhana police station in Punjab flying at a speed of 292 kmph at an altitude of 13,500 feet. The aircraft turned back from Nowshera Pan and passed through the cities of Taran Sahib and Rasulpur in Indian Punjab before re-entering Pakistani territory near the village of Jhogian Noor Muhammad.

While flying in Indian airspace, the captain took the plane to a height of 20,000 feet and while passing over the villages of Kasur in Pakistani Punjab, the plane flew in Indian airspace for seven minutes.

The flight then re-entered Pakistani airspace at an altitude of 23,000 feet and a speed of 320 km/h from the village of Lakha Singhwala Hatar in Indian Punjab.

After entering Pakistan’s airspace, the aircraft departed for Multan via Hujra Shah Moqim and Dipalpur. The aircraft traveled a total of 120 km in Indian territory for about ten minutes.
