Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Qatar’s capital Doha to participate in the Fifth United Nations Least Developed Countries (LDC) Conference starting today (Sunday).
After arriving in Doha, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that he would share Pakistan’s perspective on socio-economic challenges facing LDCs in Asia and Africa.

“The least developed countries have been adversely affected by climate change, post-pandemics and geo-strategic disruptions to food and energy supplies. These global events have made them insecure. People’s well-being LDCs will be better served by putting people at the centre.policy,” the Prime Minister wrote on Twitter.
The five-day conference, which will continue till March 9, is being held to deliberate on measures to accelerate sustainable development in least developed countries and help them on the path to prosperity. At the conference, leaders will mobilize additional international aid initiatives and action in favor of LDCs and agree on a new partnership between LDCs and their development partners.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif – who is attending the conference at the invitation of Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani – will address the summit tomorrow (Monday). He will hold bilateral meetings with the participating leaders and heads of delegations on the sidelines of the conference.
Sheikh Thani will host a reception in honor of dignitaries attending the UN conference.
Pakistan is playing a leadership role on UN platforms to amplify the collective voice of the Global South to promote sustainable development globally.
During 2022, as chair of the Group of 77 and China, Pakistan supported the efforts of LDCs and Qatar to adopt the Doha Program of Action for Least Developed Countries by consensus and through UN General Assembly ratification. actively supported.
Fawad Chaudhry finds fault with another foreign visit
Reacting to the Prime Minister’s visit to Doha, Senior Vice President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Fawad Chaudhry criticized the current government for many foreign visits.
Fawad Chaudhry on the social networking website Twitter said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has once again visited a foreign country while Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has visited the world after assuming the post of Foreign Minister.

He asked that it is beyond understanding what all these visits have given to Pakistan.
Fawad said that Pakistan’s close allies are indifferent to the country’s economic crisis, while there has been no discussion on the issues of Kashmir and Afghanistan for the past 10 months.
He further said that there was a regime of oppression and tyranny in Pakistan, while human and political rights were violated and cases of missing persons are also coming to light in Punjab after Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“As a nuclear state, our capabilities are being questioned [and] these are the effects of the establishment’s unnecessary regime change experiments,” Fawad wrote.
