London: Senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader Nasir Butt in Britain filed defamation cases against several people for allegedly leading the plot to kill journalist Arshad Sharif and assaulting the former with a gun. started Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Addressing a press conference here, Butt announced that he had filed a case against Syed Tasneem Haider, his lawyer Mehtab Anwar Aziz, Tariq Mehmood, businessman Liaquat Malik, YouTuber Major (retd) Adil Raja and five other media persons. Legal action has been initiated.
The PML-N leader said that they are prosecuting eight people in total and will prosecute a few more people in the UK and Canada who aired Tasneem Haider’s interviews.
Butt also announced that his lawyers have already sent legal defamation letters to Tasneem Haider and others for their involvement in the conspiracy to assassinate Arshad Sharif and the attack on Imran Khan by falsely linking them.
It should be noted that Pakistan’s well-known journalist Arshad Sharif was shot dead in Kenya on October 23 last year. In the following month of the same year, former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan was also attacked during a march in Wazirabad.
Last week, Scotland Yard confirmed that it had called Nasir Butt, PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and PML-N senior vice-president Maryam Nawaz to the police on behalf of Tasneem Haider and her lawyer Mehtab Aziz. No investigation was initiated on the complaints made.
Butt told reporters: “London police have made it clear that they have looked at the evidence provided by Tasneem Haider and found it not credible, so no investigation has been opened,” he added. “The evidence provided is insufficient. There is no realistic prospect of conviction.”

On November 20 last year, Tasneem Haider along with businessman Liaquat Mehmood addressed a press conference at Mehtab Aziz’s office where they made serious allegations against Nasir Butt.
Tasneem Haider alleged that Nasir Butt had asked her to arrange shooters in Wazirabad to attack Imran Khan, and claimed that “Nasir Butt was behind the killing of Arshad Sharif in Kenya about four months ago.” was.”
Tasneem Haider alleged that Arshad Sharif’s laptop and other belongings were in the possession of Nasir Butt in London and Nasir Butt also showed her a video in which Arshad Sharif was being tortured.
Two weeks before this, Mehtab Aziz had filed a complaint against Maryam Nawaz and Nawaz Sharif at the Charing police station that they were linked to the attack on Imran Khan and that there was a witness who was involved in the conspiracy.
Two weeks later, he said that Tasneem Haider had come forward as a witness who was involved in plotting the assassination of Nawaz Sharif and seven other PML-N supporters at Hassan Nawaz Sharif’s office on Eid in July. .
Butt said that in order to divert attention from the real killers of Arshad Sharif, he had initiated defamation proceedings through his lawyers against Tasnim Haider and his co-conspirators who defamed him in a premeditated plan.
