CM Elahi’s Challenge; Opposition strategy
Before Chaudhry’s announcement, Chief Minister Punjab Elahi challenged the opposition to move a no-confidence motion against him as Chaudhry later began discussing his strategy to send the provincial government packing.

I will dissolve the Assembly whenever Imran Khan asks me, I stand with PTI Chairman Imran Khan and am ready to dissolve the Assembly on his order.

He further said that the opposition is and will remain in the minority. “They don’t have the guts to move a no-confidence motion. But if they still want to, they can go ahead and move it.”

While holding a press conference today, PML-N leader Atta Tarar said that the coalition parties will adopt all political and legal options to prevent the dissolution of the assemblies.

He expressed these views after the meeting of the Parliamentary Advisory Committee of Muslim League-N under the chairmanship of Hamza Shahbaz.

Referring to the petition filed by Hamza Shehbaz in the Lahore High Court (LHC) against the election of PTI’s Sabtain Khan as Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, he requested the court to hear his case.

Tarar said the PML-N would go “to its last extent” to save the Punjab Assembly from being dissolved, no matter what measures it had to resort to.

“The options of no-confidence motion and asking the governor to take a vote of confidence have been considered,” he said, adding that the PML-N would also consult its allies.
