ISLAMABAD: After the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, President Arif Alvi expressed solidarity with the former prime minister and asked his wife to meet the arrested leader’s sisters Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan.

The President asked his wife Samina Alvi to contact Imran Khan’s sisters and tell them that he is making efforts for their well-being.

Sources told the publication that the president shared his feelings with his spouse and asked to contact Imran’s sisters.

Accordingly, the First Lady contacted the two sisters of Chairman PTI over the phone.

Samina said in a statement that when she reached Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, she told them that there was no case against her brother for looting national wealth.

The two sisters were furious over their brother’s arrest and urged people to continue peaceful protests until the PTI chief is released.

Meanwhile, sources say President Alvi is keeping in touch with the PTI leadership to ascertain the situation and discuss political developments with them.
