Prime Minister Shehbaz and Zardari will contact Governor Punjab to prevent dissolution of assembly.

Former president and co-chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari and coalition partner Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif have decided to approach Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman as they want to stop the planned dissolution of the Punjab Assembly.

If the no-confidence motion is brought, the Chief Minister of Punjab will need 186 votes to retain his post.

However, if CM Punjab fails to win VoNC. He will lose the power to dissolve the Punjab Assembly.

Prime Minister Shehbaz also briefed the former president about his meeting with Pakistan Muslim League (Q) chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, where the two leaders agreed to enhance unity among the coalition parties.

Meanwhile, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Ataullah Tarar said about the meeting with Zardari that all possible options are under consideration.

He added that the senior leadership of the party had called a meeting on Monday morning to discuss important decisions.
