Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Beijing on Tuesday starting a two-day official visit to China. He is expected to meet the top Chinese leadership, including President Xi Jinping.
During their visit, the two sides will review the Pakistan-China bilateral strategic cooperation partnership and discuss regional and global developments.
A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said that upon his arrival at the Beijing Capital International Airport, Prime Minister Shehbaz was welcomed on a red carpet in which a guard of honor was presented to him by armed contingents of the Chinese Armed Forces.
During his first official visit to China after assuming office, the Prime Minister will also meet Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.

He is leading a high-level delegation comprising federal cabinet ministers, special assistants and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
He is among the first world leaders to visit China since the historic 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) that elected Xi as the CPC General Secretary.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also meet Chinese investors and Pakistani businessmen living and working in China.
The visit is expected to advance the agenda of bilateral cooperation on a wide scale with the conclusion of several MoUs/Agreements in various sectors, and the momentum of CPEC cooperation in the context of the 11th meeting of the CPEC Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC). will be consolidated.
