Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s legal team on Tuesday decided to challenge the two-day physical remand of party chairman Imran Khan’s nephew and focal person for legal affairs Hassan Niazi, who was arrested a day ago for misbehaving with the police in Islamabad. was done.
This development came after Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah approved Niazi’s two-day remand in the District and Sessions Court of the federal capital. However, after producing the PTI leader in the court, the police requested a seven-day remand, but their request was rejected.
PTI’s application will be heard by Sessions Judge Nasir Javed Rana.
Niazi was still in the judicial magistrate’s court, JEE News reported.
Earlier today, Khan’s focal person for legal affairs was produced in court where he was represented by his lawyers Ali Bukhari, Qaiser Imam and Sher Afzal Marwat.
Niazi, a day earlier, was arrested for “abusing and resisting the police” at a check post outside an anti-terrorism court in Islamabad. After which the police shifted him to an unknown place.
Niazi’s arrest came after his appearance at the ATC, where the hearing of cases against PTI leaders and activists was going on at Islamabad’s Ramna police station.
Meanwhile, Advocate Faisal Chaudhry filed an application in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for the release of the PTI leader. The petition stated that “Police abducted Hassaan Niazi from the premises of the judicial complex after he was granted bail in a case”.
