PTI leaders reiterated their demand for elections in meeting with ambassadors

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders including Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Secretary General Asad Umar held a “breakfast meeting” with the diplomatic corps in Islamabad on Tuesday.

In a meeting organized by Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan Neil Hawkins, PTI leaders met the ambassadors of European and Muslim countries posted in Pakistan.

“We discussed the regional and overall political situation of the country during the meeting,” Qureshi said, according to JEE News.

In the meeting, the senior leaders of the party informed the diplomats about the demand to conduct transparent elections as per the schedule and end the atmosphere of political instability in the country.

“We are deeply grateful to Australian High Commissioner Mr. Neil Hawkins for organizing this breakfast meeting,” Qureshi added.

The PTI – led by Chairman Imran Khan – has been campaigning for a general election in Pakistan for months since its government was toppled by a no-confidence vote in April last year, with the PTI chief’s After the end of the Long March in October, there was an acceleration.

Following their demand, the party decided to dissolve the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assemblies – the provinces ruled by the PTI.

On the other hand, former Prime Minister Imran Khan has also been involved in various cases. Since the issue of his appearance in the courts, his party workers have created massive chaos as they took to the streets against the Pakistan Democratic Movement-led government at the Center to control the situation.
