LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan believes that the purpose of tapping phone calls is to put pressure on judges and prevent the rule of law in the country, JEE News reported on Sunday.
The former prime minister made this comment during a meeting with columnists and senior writers. In the meeting, the PTI chief discussed his party’s political strategy, economic challenges and incidents of terrorism, also elaborated on PTI’s Jail Bharo Tehreek (Court Arrest Movement) and its goals. .
Referring to the phone-tapping incidents, the PTI chairman said that the ongoing propaganda against the judiciary, especially the judges, was shameful, adding that “Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is targeting the judiciary. has had a history.”
“The tapping of phone calls was an attempt to put pressure on the judges and prevent the rule of law,” Khan said.
The PTI chief said that the judiciary is the last hope of the nation. He further said that the government should implement the rule of law without putting pressure on the judges.
Khan also alleged that the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) was a key supporter of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) in constitutional violations. He further said that the current government is promoting reprisals and political dictatorship.
Khan said that PTI will end lawlessness and economic crisis with the support of the nation. He further said that he has announced to start Jail Bharo movement for real freedom.
He said that political stability will bring economic stability in the country which is impossible without the rule of law.
Khan further alleged that former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa admitted to playing a role in the regime change and violated his oath. He further said that General (Rtd) Bajwa has also admitted to controlling the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
He also alleged that the former army chief had also confessed to the audio recording, which was an illegal act. He demanded the army to investigate the actions of General (Rtd) Bajwa.
Khan praised President Dr. Arif Alvi for not signing the Finance Bill Ordinance. He said that the finance bill will bring inflation in the country.
He said that the economic indicators remained positive during the PTI government. The default risk to Pakistan had reached 100 percent during the current regime.
Regarding his cases, the former prime minister said that the courts are summoning them, but the doctors have stopped them from walking.
He further said that governments in two provinces have sacrificed to end the crisis through fresh elections but the rulers are delaying the elections.
“According to the constitution, elections should be held within 90 days after dissolution of assemblies,” Khan said.
The former cricketer also alleged that caretaker governments are not impartial and false cases are being filed against PTI leaders and supporters besides arrests.
Khan said that he took a peaceful way of protesting against the government by announcing Jail Bharo Tehreek. Tehreek-e-Insaf will launch the movement on February 22 and they will surrender to the authorities across the country.

Ijaz Chaudhry, focal person of Jail Bharo Tehreek PTI, said that 200 party workers and six former members of the assembly will be arrested daily in the court against the oppressive government in Lahore starting from February 22 and continuing till March 1, 2023. .
Talking to the media at the party head office in Lahore, he said that the aim of Jail Bharo Tehreek is to end the violation of the constitution in the country.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the PDM government were refusing to follow the constitution and implement the court decisions.
He expressed regret that the time for announcing the date of Punjab Assembly elections has expired. He questioned why the governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), who had signed the summary of dissolution of the assembly, did not give the date of the election.
Giving details of the Jail Bharo Tehreek, he said the list of volunteers, who would be arrested by the court, had already been prepared.
According to the schedule, PTI workers will be arrested in Peshawar on February 23, Rawalpindi on February 24, Multan on February 25, Gujranwala on February 26, Sargodha on February 27, Sahiwal on February 28 and Faisalabad on February 28. March 1st.
Chaudhry said that if the authorities did not arrest him, the PTI would hold a dharna.
