Rawalpindi: Reiterating the Pakistan Army’s commitment to fight terrorism till the end of this scourge, Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir vowed that the sacrifices of Pakistan’s martyrs will not go in vain, ISPR said. Allah will return complete peace to Pakistan.
According to an ISPR handout, the COAS made these remarks during a visit to forward posts along the Pak-Afghan border in South Waziristan where he also interacted with soldiers. The Army Chief laid wreaths at the Martyrs’ Memorial in Wana and visited the formation headquarters where he was briefed on operational, training and security.
Progress on matters of formation as well as development works to be carried out in Newly Merged Districts (NMDs). General Munir appreciated the counter-terrorism efforts for creating and providing an enabling environment for the implementation of socio-economic development projects. The COAS reiterated the Army’s commitment to fight terrorism till the end of terrorism. He vowed that the sacrifices of Pakistan’s martyrs will not go in vain and, God willing, complete peace will return to Pakistan. He highlighted the importance of coordination between various state institutions and especially the importance of the people of Pakistan in the collective war against terrorism. .
