Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Tuesday that he intends to hold talks with the Chinese leadership on strengthening bilateral ties and particularly on revitalizing the multi-billion dollar China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

Spokesperson of the Foreign Office announced that the high-level delegation includes Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and others.
Before his departure, the Prime Minister said in a tweet that the second phase of CPEC promises to usher in a new era of socio-economic development that will raise the standard of living of the people.
“There is much to learn from the Chinese economic miracle,” he said in a tweet, stressing that his discussions with the Chinese leadership would focus on revitalizing CPEC, among other things.
The premier said he was honored to be among the first few leaders to be invited after the historic 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
He said that at a time when the world is facing many challenges, Pakistan and China stand together as friends and partners.

A Foreign Office spokesman said the prime minister was among the first leaders to visit Beijing after the historic 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
The spokesperson said that the visit is also expected to advance the bilateral cooperation agenda on a wide scale after several MoUs and agreements were signed at the 11th session of the CPEC Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC). .
The Prime Minister’s visit represents a continuation of the ongoing exchange of leadership between Pakistan and China. The Prime Minister will meet President Xi Jinping and hold delegation-level talks with Premier Li Keqiang. The two sides will review the All Weather Strategic Cooperation Partnership and exchange views on regional and global developments.
China is Investing Billions in CPEC Projects.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Monday expressed confidence that his meetings with the Chinese leadership during his visit to China will help in promoting strategic, economic and cultural ties between the two countries.
Addressing the first session of the Pakistan-China Business and Investment Forum here, the Prime Minister emphasized on building a strong business-to-business partnership to further expand bilateral relations between Pakistan and China and increase the benefits of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
“I look forward to productive and productive meetings with the Chinese leadership aimed at promoting business and people-to-people relations,” the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister said that there is a need to redouble efforts to create an enabling environment to connect with Chinese business houses and attract Chinese investment and emphasized on creating an enabling environment for building business-to-business relations.
