The ruling coalition at the center has reiterated that general elections will be held in the country only after his term ends.

This statement came after the success of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the by-elections of 8 out of 11 constituencies of the National and Provincial Assemblies.

In a joint statement, the alliance categorically refused to accept the demand for early elections by attacking the federal capital, Islamabad.

The statement said that violent mobs will not be allowed to dictate to the government.

The statement also condemned former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s propaganda against People’s Party Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Muslim League (N) Supremo Nawaz Sharif on the matter of appointing a new Army Chief.

The statement said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will select the new COAS as per his constitutional privilege.

The statement said that PTI is deliberately defaming state institutions to blackmail the government.

The joint statement said that the economic recovery and rehabilitation of flood-affected people is the top priority of the government.

He added that the government, institutions and common people agree that political instability will be dangerous for the country.

The federal government has been strengthened after the October 16 by-elections, claiming that its strength in the National Assembly (NA) has increased from 174 to 176 after the by-elections.
