LONDON: Scotland Yard has closed its investigation into an attack on one of Nawaz Sharif’s closest bodyguards – without taking further action due to a lack of evidence of actual bodily harm and an attack that caused a general assault.

The complaint against close bodyguard Fareed Nemouchi was lodged by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist Shayan Ali after a scuffle outside Hassan Nawaz Sharif’s office on April 2, 2022, when Nawaz Sharif was leaving the office in the afternoon.

Ahsan Dar, whose security company Systematic Security Limited provides guards to the PML-N supremo, confirmed that the investigation had been closed after a thorough investigation by the police over a period of six months.

The police analyzed the footage, conducted interviews and reviewed everything before concluding that there was no evidence to prosecute Nawaz Sharif’s guard. Obviously, there was politics involved and a campaign was launched to either charge or warn our guard to make news but thank God the police realized what was going on and what the truth was. ” said Darr.

Dar said the police would not take any further action.

“The police have informed us through a letter that no further action will be taken against our security guard. Nothing has been proved against Nawaz Sharif’s bodyguards. Our bodyguards were provoked and came under attack but they showed professionalism and went above and beyond his duty to protect Mr. Sharif in a professional manner. He will continue to do his duty to protect Mr. Sharif at all costs. He has dealt with miscreants who have The security ring has tried to breach. Our guard has suffered injuries and there is evidence of that,” Dar said, sharing a letter from the law firm handling the police investigation.

Criminal duty solicitor Moin Khan, who handled the police case on behalf of Dar’s security firm, confirmed that the police had found no evidence of any wrongdoing by Nawaz’s bodyguards.

Moeen said Nimochi was called “voluntarily” to Hammersmith police station on October 18, 2022, where he was questioned about charges of causing actual bodily harm and common assault.

“After we presented the evidence to the police, the police authorities decided to end the investigation without charging or warning the guard. The police decided not to take any further action. The police decided that the evidence against the guard was too strong. “are not strong enough that there is a reasonable chance of conviction or that it is not in the interests of justice to charge you with assault causing actual bodily harm and common assault,” the lawyer said.

Shayan had complained on April 2 that Nawaz’s security guards beat him without justification as he was standing outside with his mother Sadaf Mumtaz and friends when the guards approached him and violated his rights. He provided police with footage showing the guard punching him in the face.

Both parties denied each other’s claims and the police were contacted through several emails and other means to investigate the matter.

Dar had released a picture of the security guard with blood pouring from his forehead. Shayan and his mother Sadaf were contacted for comment.
