Earlier, in an informal meeting held at the Supreme Court on Friday, all but one of the available 14 judges were present. The judge who is the subject of the alleged audio clips also attended the meeting.

A recent audio clip of the judge went viral on social media, creating a stir in the country and raising concerns from the legal community, especially regarding the image of the high judiciary.

The recent leak of private telephone conversations between former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and a Supreme Court judge has raised questions about the privacy of Pakistani citizens’ communications.

Article 14 of the Constitution fully guarantees citizens the right to dignity and privacy, which cannot be violated without law.

It is learned that during Friday’s meeting, the judges deliberated on the recent audio clip of the judge as well as the judgments of the Supreme Court in which the court made some observations on the phone tapping of the judges.
