TIP 2022: Police, Judiciary Among Pakistan’s Most Corrupt Institutions

In its National Corruption Perception Survey (NCPS) 2022, Transparency International Pakistan (TIP) ranked the police as the most corrupt, tendering and contracting as the second most corrupt, and the judiciary as the third most corrupt. After education, it is the fourth most corrupt. 2021.

A public survey released by Transparency International—a global civil society organization fighting corruption—allowed people to rate various departments in Pakistan on the basis of corruption.

A provincial breakdown of the three most corrupt sectors shows the following:

Sindh
In Sindh, education was the most corrupt sector, police was the second most corrupt, while tendering and contracting was the third most corrupt. In Punjab, police was the most corrupt sector, tendering and contracting came second while judiciary was the third most corrupt sector.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), judiciary was the most corrupt sector, tendering and contracting was the second most corrupt while police was the third most corrupt.

Balochistan
Tendering and contracting was the most corrupt sector in Balochistan, police ranked second and judiciary ranked third.

However, survey respondents also criticized people for corruption in the distribution of recent flood aid in Pakistan.

The public demanded life imprisonment for such money grabbers and demanded government officials, politicians and judges to disclose their assets to ensure transparency in the system.
