In another unfortunate incident, a woman was killed and at least four others injured in an explosion inside the Jaafar Express near Chichawatni, JEE News reported on Thursday.
Sources associated with Pakistan Railways say that the train was going from Quetta to Peshawar when the explosion occurred.
Sahiwal Regional Police Officer, District Police Officer and other district officials reached the spot soon after the blast and started a search operation. Later, the remaining coaches of the train were declared clear at Chichawatni railway station.
The spokesman of the railway department termed it as a gas cylinder explosion.
Railway sources said that the blast took place inside bogie number six in the economy class section. He said that the deceased woman has been identified and belongs to Bahawalpur. The injured have been shifted to the hospital.
Reacting to the incident, Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique ordered a full investigation into the matter.
